Water pump kits with hose and float
- Detailed description
The box kit with hose and float for meadow pump allows you to supply water to your pasture tank avoiding contamination of the water by animal droppings but also stopping the erosion of river and stream banks by cattle. An easy, reliable and autonomous way to provide water to livestock when watercourses are fenced off. This maintains water quality at a high level and preserves the healthy growth of local flora and fauna.
The complete prairie pump kit includes :
- 1 Control box with compartment for 12V battery. BATTERY NOT INCLUDED.
- 1 30 m hose with submersible pump
- 1 Float switch
For optimal operation of the meadow pump, it is ESSENTIAL to integrate a 60W solar panel (Ref.119150002) or 2 x 30W solar panels (Ref.125340), as well as a battery with a sufficient capacity of 85 Ah (Ref.125083101). We strongly recommend the following additional products to ensure proper functioning of the equipment.
Farmers increasingly need to keep their livestock away from waterways. The European Water Framework Directive (WFD) establishes a framework for the protection of inland waters, transitional waters (estuaries), coastal waters and groundwater. River fencing provides protection against bank erosion.
Solar battery-powered meadow pump kits can be integrated into all common drinking troughs. The solar pump provides the animals with their water needs without having to change or recharge the battery (depending on storage density, weather conditions, etc.). These kits are simple 12V pumping systems based on water pump technology to allow the transfer of large quantities of water. The kit is equipped with a float that activates the submersible pump when the water level drops.
The pump is connected to a 30m long hose that leads directly from the water source to the tank. The set is powered by a 12V battery (not included in the kit) located in a weatherproof housing. We recommend an 85 Ah battery. The water requirements of the animals are very different and are influenced by temperature, humidity and type of feed, among other things. The majority of grazing animals are herd animals and want to drink together, so the size of the drinking trough should allow for this. By increasing the height, the pumping capacity is reduced. At a height of 10 m the pump is running at about 65% of its maximum performance. The charging times of the solar energy vary according to the weather conditions. Keep in mind that in summer the water needs of the animals increase.
The water requirements are indicative. Make sure to follow the instructions for use.- Technical documentation
